A Year of Winter // Fashion Part One

Studying abroad in the UK during January meant that I was leaving burning hot summer here in Australia and travelling to a country going through their peak Winter. I’m not going to lie, I WAS FREEEEEZING when I got out at London Heathrow. Australian Winter definitely does not compare to the UK winter. I was going from 16/17 degree winters in Brisbane, Australia to -2/3 degree winters in England. So, I thought I’d write a post rounding up a few of my Winter outfits since heading to England.

Since I was also studying abroad in England and was going to be there for 5 (almost 6) months, I had to pack carefully as I didn’t get much luggage allowance. And now that I’m back in Australia, I’ve come back into Winter in Australia. So technically, I’ve almost (ALMOST) had a year of winter. Although, Australian Winter is a joke with the 23 degree (today!) winter days haha but how beautiful is that! So, I wanted to write up a little post on a few of my favourite outfits I wore whilst I was in England. So, here’s a little round up of my outfits during my ‘almost’ year of Winter.

And if you’re interested, although I couldn’t find the exact same items, I’ve linked similar ones.

This was my verrrry first trip to an English town other than Oxford. This was in Bath – such a gorgeous little country town! And this is what I wore – A black dress (layered with thermals underneath of course), paired with knee high boots, my trench coat and a scarf.

My second outfit! I wore this outfit on my trip to Stonehenge and Winchester. This photo was taken at Winchester. Suprisingly, I didn’t think it was too cold (as I’m only wearing a cotton blue top under my trench). But I made sure to layer up with jeans and again, the knee high boots!

Okay so this was taken in Cambridge. I remember this moment clearly because it was FREEEEZING. And it was snowing too. Although I made sure to layer up, I was still SUPER cold. But, for this outfit, I wore my long sleeved white top with my black pinafore and again, my knee high boots (something which came in SUPER handy for this UK trip!).

My obsession with Pinafores started a while before this photo was taken (read my Spring Edit on Pinafores!) and so, I went and did a massive Boohoo order, ordering lots of Pinafores. And this rusty orange pinafore was one of them! I had a lot of people commenting & asking questions about this pinafore so I just couldn’t leave it out of this post. I paired it with thermals underneath, my trusty trench again and stockings and boots!

Ahhhh this was my first trip into London and I was SO excited! There were a lot of interest for this outfit as well! I’m wearing a long sleeved white top, my trusty Topshop Joni jeans, my cream/beige coat and some boots.

Although I’ve got a seperate post on this outfit (click here to read that post), I just had to include this in this post because I wore this A LOT! The sweater/top is from Zara and jeans are Topshop Joni jeans!
